UPDATE: SafeStrap v3.11 is now available!

With the newer Safestrap v3.0, you can now install ROMs much easily and also dual-boot.

You will need SafeStrap 3.0 here:

Download SafeStrap 3.11

With the latest SafeStrap 3.0, new ROM “slots” can be created, allowing you to have multiple ROMs installed on your Droid Bionic and easily change ROM boots, hence sorta of “dual-boot/multi-boot” feature.

This is great! Can this be installed over SS 2.0? I am on a custom from now. Its based on 4.1.2. If I install SS 3.0 will my backup still be the same backup I had before or will the custom rom I’m currently using be my new backup. I don’t want to lose my current backup in case Verizon ever delivers JB and I need to OTA update. Thanks for everything. I would still be on stock and never rooted if it wasn’t for your videos.

    • Droid Razr Root says:

Copy the contents of your safestrap backup directory from internal to SD card. And you should be fine or you can also restore your stock backup then try using SS 3.0.

      • Tyler says:

Perfect. restored my stock and everything worked well. I’m at the pint of the guy below. It seems there isn’t much internal storage to have multiple slots used. Can I really just move the safestarp folder form internal to external and everything will work ok? scared to try it. thanks!

  2. kenneth says:

I have this and have two slots active . My questioniis how do I free up space so I can activate more slots? Thanks in advance.

    • Droid Razr Root says:

Move the safestrap directory from your internal storage to your sdcard.

      • Justin says:

Sorry, but how would you do that? I am pretty sure there is more to it than just copying everything over there right? I already have a couple roms on safestrap 3.

  3. Joshua says:

How do i back up the internal storage? I want to just make backups of the roms’ storage and when transfering over to a different rom just get backup and get rid of the data off of one rom and restore the data from the previous. vise-versa if going back to the other rom. i just made a backup and selected all of the boxes for the backup.

  4. Tyler says:

This new SS is bad ass! thanks for all your videos and making this so easy. I have 2 roms installed. Licorice 1.4 and Red Zone. About to flash the newest Full Throttle now…. plus still have my stock ready to use when “working” and need good video capturing. Can’t wait til there’s a JB rom that can take great vids!

Licorice 1.4 CM10 is great! Super fast and gnow works perfect!

  5. harley says:

Just wondering if the safe strap v3 works for RAZR m? Also if the roms for the RAZR will work in the m? Thanks.

  6. Tyler says:

I just heard that Official Jelly Bean is rolling out or you can get it here. http://www.androidgadgematic.com/2012/12/manually-update-droid-razr-maxx-android.html?m=1

But is there a preferred way you would get it? I am assuming you need to disable root and safestrap. Please help!

  7. Dudley Davis says:

Will I have to clear the data each time I install a new rom? As in, if I go from stock to new rom, will my settings and programs still be the same? Or will I have to go through the whole setup each time I swap roms?

  8. Tom says:

I’ve installed SS 3.05 on a rooted Droid Razr, but when I try to create a rom-slot1, there is not enough space for even one slot.
I moved the SS directory onto a 32gb card with almost nothing on it, and the phone has been wiped clean, yet it still tells me I only have 1108MB of free space. Any thoughts?

    • Tom says:

I decided to install SS 2, then flash Killer Bean AOKP and that worked. Is SS 3.05 simply not for the Razr?

      • Tyler says:

I would have to say SS 3 works better on my razr than killer bean

        • Tom says:

I’m a bit confused with your comment. Isn’t SS a “recovery” and killer bean a “ROM” so how can one be better than the other when they’re not the same thing. I might be missing something here…
Also after flashing Full Throttle Killer Bean ROM it seems to be stuck on the splas screen with a blue flame behind the words…

  9. Derrick says:

I have an rooted Droid Razor Maxx. I installed both Safestrap 3.05 and 3.12 and either works. When I reboot I get the Droid stand splash screen which continues to the standard screen. I do not get an Safestrap screen. Any ideas for solutions.

  10. Cassy says:

Does anyone know how to uninstall safestrap? I haven’t been able to figure it out for the life of me but I’m just a noob
