Tired of running ICS with MotoBlur on your Verizon Droid Razr?  Well, I am honestly tired of it all and want to really run a custom ROM that will allow me to use it fully and enjoy the latest Jelly Bean roms.

Finally, there’s a couple good Jelly Beans ROMs out now, that’s also easy to install.  The FullThrottle AOKP Jelly Bean ROM comes with the latest Android 4.1.2 and with almost everything working out of the box.

With any of these AOKP/CM10 ROMs, you will not be able to use WebTop (as that’s a feature on MotoBlur) but if you don’t use the WebTop feature much (I don’t ever use it), this could be a great way to get Jelly Bean running on your Droid Razr already.  Also, the flash on camera (camcorder flash works though) isn’t working, which isn’t a huge deal I would say.

Other than the mentioned above, everything else seems to be working smoothly out of the box including 3G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth, and Netflix.  Of course, that’s not the coolest part, the coolest part is that this ROM is so smooth when switching between apps and you surely get the “pure” Google experience, not so much Moto-bloatware.

Other than that, since it’s an AOKP ROM, you also get dozens of UI customizations.

You can also take advantage of Google Cards (Hold down Menu button) and GoogleNow search to enhance your voice search experience.  (I find it very handy for keeping up with my SF Giants and 49ers.)

You will also find the new Jelly Bean notifications, much more effect and also you can even customize the toggle buttons as you wish.

AOKP ROM Control is probably one of the best in the market for customizations, that little something (tweak) goes a long ways to making smartphone users like myself happy.

So, what are you waiting for?  Get you jelly on!  This might be a great time to jump on the jelly bean bandwagon as the dust has settled quite a bit and this ROM seems very stable.

And lastly but not least, if you want to save battery life, try turning off 4G LTE and also underclock your phone to 1Ghz or even 800Mhz in Performance settings under ROM Control.

Give it a try over this weekend and let me know what you think of being jelly!

Download AOKP Jelly Bean ROM (This is the version I installed, for latest, check the Droidrzr link below.)

Download Gapps

To install, you MUST BE on ICS ROM already.  DO NOT INSTALL THIS ROM IF YOU ARE ON GINGERBREAD!!!  Also you need Safestrap ICS!

Once you have those, simply re-boot into your Safestrap recovery,  make sure safemode is enabled, wipe data/factory reset, install ROM, install Gapps, and reboot.  That’s it!

  8. Jay Jennings says:

Max, installed jelly bean but lost apps and other functionality, like phone calls…. how do I restore all my old settings and apps in the new rom?

  9. Eyecre8 says:

You might want to make mention or update the Safestrap section.
    SafeStrap 3 is out.

    • Eyecre8 says:

Just loaded this ROM. Loving it! Cool boot up animation as well.
      The ROM is wicked quick!

      • Jay Jennings says:

Did you have any trouble restoring apps and market data? I like the look and feel of the ROM but could not access any of the hundreds of apps I have on my sdcard-ext

        What am I missing?

  10. Larry Newman says:

Phone works intermittently. No one can hear me. Any suggestions?

    • Larry Newman says:

      SOLVED
I had to disable bluetooth. I knew the bluetooth didn’t work in my car, but just assumed it was some bug with that only. When bluetooth is enabled, no one can hear me, and I cannot hear anyone.

  11. Scorpio says:

Does it work for Droid RAZR xt910?

I have noticed that Google Goggles does not work.I tried to figure out where to post good feedback for the ROM. Do you know where is goodplace to send it?

  14. Brian says:

    i just tried this again:
“Once you have those, simply re-boot into your Safestrap recovery, make sure safemode is enabled, wipe data/factory reset, install ROM, install Gapps, and reboot. That’s it!

I am using a MACBOOK so when i download the files they are unzipped, so I compressed them again to create the .zip files. when i choose zip from sdcard i see:

    finding update package…
    opening update package…
    installing update…
    installation aborted.

    please help!

    • Steven says:

Using a Mac does not matter because I’m using one too. Download from this website to ensure you are getting the real thing. It shouldn’t be unzipped. Sounds like you have an update and not the full ROM.

      • Brian says:

weird. i downloaded from this(http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/topic/4596-romfull-throttle-killer-bean-aokp-412101812/) website. the Mac automatically unzips.

        • Steven says:

Go into your decompression program settings to see if it is set to automatically unzip files. Or you could try disabling your decompression program, maybe even go as far as uninstalling if you have the .Dmg. It seems like whatever program you are using is set to open compressed files by default. If that don’t work, I will brainstorm some more.

  15. NuclearHawk says:

I tried to install the ROM but it failed when I tried to flash the ROM.

  16. Brian says:

Im with you NuclearHawk, but nobody seems to care.

  17. NuclearHawk says:

I have tried to install the ROM however, it fails each time. here is the error:
    E: Can’t open /sdcard/downloads/Full_Throttle_Killer_Bean_AOKP_2.zip
    (bad)
    Installation Aborted

    Does anyone have any advice

    • Steven says:

Are you installing it from inside safestrap with safe mode on? If you are, you may have a bad download. Make sure your phone is fully charged too.

  18. Steven says:

Just installed JB Rom, and I am loving it! Besides the things stated, I can’t seem to get wifi working. It says it’s on but do not show the wifi icon. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

  19. Robert says:

How do you get the Gapps onto the phone the same way you flash the rom onto the phone?? or is ther a different way? I forgot to Install gapps cause I wasnt sure how to do it but I got the rom running well. Its working just with out the gApps someone help as soon as possible?

    • Steven says:

Connect your phone to your computer. When it is recognized, copy the Gapps zip file to your phone or sd card (note where you put it to find it later). Reboot into Safestrap. Make sure safe mode is enabled, and select “install zip from sdcard” option then “choose zip from sdcard”. Now select the option that points to where you put your zip file. scroll through until you find the Gapps zip file and select it. Reboot and you are done. Enjoy!

  20. Joe says:

Love this ROM and Love all your Info Your ROCK! Question: This ROM was missing the camera all together? any advice on how to re-install it because I couldn’t figure that out.

    • Abel says:

I had the same problem with my first install. All I did was download the file again and reflashed. After rebooting the Camera app was there.

  21. Joe says:

Thank you so much this worked flawless

  26. Liquo says:

i flashed this rom successfully but i am now unable to use my phones internal storage at all. my computer doesn’t recongize it when i enable usb debugging and when i try to download something i get a no sd card error. any ideas?

    • Liquo says:

I gave up on the rom but have now a rather odd situation. to start with i have done a lot of things “improperly” with my razr. my current issue is upon restoring my phone has been set to factory reset with it still retaining all of the previous file on the internal drive, i have checked and my phone still has root access but super SU is gone, i am however still left with superuser from 2.2.1 as i didnt properly un root before updating and rooting on ics. is this an issue?

  27. Sergy says:

I just find out — VERIZON stooped all my MMS, so this ROM have nothing 2 do with MMS, but i don’t know what is problems with YouTube. I will let know all when ILL fix it.
    Ty all and GL

  28. Sergy says:

    MMS solution :
    – go 2 Play Store, get any messaging app(i got “go sms pro”)

tried JBaopk out. sweet little rom but needs to be developed more. i found all the glitches mr. lee found plus several more. became too annoying to keep on. will try red tide next.

  30. Michael says:

Emergency…I tried installing this rom but thru Clockworkmod recovery…I performed a backup thru CWM as well…tried installing the rom and after it said it was installing it aborted with a status 7? error message. I rebooted my phone to try again and now it will either hang at the motorola dual core logo or hang at the full throttle logo. I can no longer seem to access Clockwordmod recovery. I pulled out my SD card and checked the files on my computer and now I don’t see any of my .zip files…not sure what to do from here if anything :-(

  31. Andy says:

Awesome ROM – Having issues with Bluetooth only works if BluetoothSCO App is enabled then disabled. Instagram force closes on accesses camera. Really dont care for it much but please see if the Bluetooth situation can be fixed.
    Thanks.

    • Matt says:

Has this issue been resolved? I can’t get my bluetooth ear piece to work at all. It is a deal breaker for me.

  32. Kajun4288 says:

So far the app is stable except the already mentioned problems & now that every time I try the updates it says: “Invalid MD5 sum” what does that entail?

  33. Aaron says:

I was browsing and found a few other ROMs and I was wondering if anyone would be interested in doing a review of them! They’re the JellyCore series of ROMs (I believe there is 4 of them that run 4.1 for the Razr).

    http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/topic/4593-romrazr-cdmajellybeankexecstockaokp-jellycore-by-team-speedcore-safestrap211-9282012/

  34. David says:

Can I go from red tide to full throttle or do I need to flash back to ICS?

  35. Javon says:

i just installed the rom but the wifi doesnt seem to work properly any suggestions.

  36. Jumping Jelly Bean says:

    Hi Max,

I just installed the AOKP Jelly Bean ROM for Droid Razr on my MAXX and everything seems to be working except the camera. Every time I start the camera it FC and I get the error: Unfortunately the gallery has stopped.

I found another site with the ROM, Full Throttle Killer Bean AOKP, and while browsing through their forum someone had the same problem and the fix was to rename the DCIM folder. I tried that but it didn’t work.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks…RC

    • Sunny says:

I had this problem as well. I did a clear cache and data on the gallery and camera app per one solution I found. That worked for the short term, but I ended up doing a the installation again. I don’t believe I formatted the system even though I did the data wipe.

If you haven’t get titantium backup so you can restore apps quickly.

      Hope this works for you.

  37. Cassy says:

Looooove this ROM! Everything’s been working perfectly since the get go! Thanks

  38. Cassy says:

Ok did come across with a small problem. Haven’t been able to use Multipicture live or anything that will let me have individual wallpapers for each screen. Suggestions?

  39. Tim says:

Does anyone know if it is possible to update Google Now while on this rom? I look and it says there is an update available but it will not allow it to install.

    • Reese says:

I am not sure if this will help try turning off your bluetooth wifi ect… I have noticed if I am runnning bluetooth I have some problems with google now.

  40. Phil Putney says:

When Bluetooth is enabled, the phone speakers, earpiece and mouth piece don’t work nor does the Bluetooth headset (I’ve tried two different headsets as well as my car). Once I disable the Bluetooth, the phone speaker, earpiece and mouth piece work fine again. Also, one of the headsets and the car have media audio as well, which works fine with Bluetooth enabled. Any suggestions??

    • Abel Ramirez says:

Blue tooth not working on any aokp and cyanogenmod ROMs. It’s just one of the bugs that need to be worked out.

  41. Phil Putney says:

I’m not able to use an alternate keyboard (i.e. Swiftkey or Swipe). They are installed and check in the keyboard lists, but the Android keyboard (AOSP) is selected as default and can’t be changed.

  42. Jeremy S says:

Cannot mount SD card. After trying to mount it simply says “SD card ready to remove”. i can browse through the card in the file manager however. This is the ONLY problem i’m having with this otherwise amazing ROM. Any help? thnx

  43. Al says:

This rom runs great – put pudding cam and have flash – this is the only 4.1.2 that I found that is usable -the only thing that I am missing is I can not locate a scan app that works.

  44. Rick says:

The flash on Pudding Cam goes off but does not stay when the picture is taken. Any ideas? Also, is there any update on when and if the original camera will receive Flash?

  45. Cliff says:

I This app is still too buggy for me and no blue tooth. I went to the Eclipse Rom which is great but would like to get Google now. Anyone know how to get this on an ics Rom?

    • Abel says:

You guys know that you can update your phones to jelly bean already. If the update didn’t get pushed to your your phone before Verizon pulled it then you can still find it and update it yourself through the factory recovery. You can find the info on droidrzr.com

  46. aaron reinhart says:

when i try to download the rom the webpage will not open. loads forever then does nothing. thanks

  47. aaron reinhart says:

when i try to download rom it does nothing but load. thanks

  48. aaron reinhart says:

the website must have been down but it came back up later and i got it. installed easily, but one problem… no camera. i made sure to install gapps and no errors occurred during the process. rom works pretty good but i really want a camera app without having to get one from play store. any suggestions?

  49. Brandon says:

Can i download this through a phone, or do i need to use a computer? I tried to download safestrap through my phone, but it did not come up on my files. Please help!

  50. Shane Pittman says:

I tried installing gapps/rom, and after rebooting it takes me back to safestrap screen (Safe mode enabled). I hit continue and I get nothing but a blank screen. Not sure what to do…seems the ROM does not work.

  51. mike says:

I’ve noticed with this rom.. full throttle.. and red tide revenge.. the light sensor that it supposed to turn the screen off when you out your phone to your ear during a call, does not work. Secondly.. the accent back lights for the 4 bottoms on the bottom ( menu home back search ) do not light up either. I have installed this rom, red tide revenge, full throttle and another one that does not come to mind and neither of these features worked on any of them. I attempted to install the official jb update and kept getting a flash error.

I recommend red tide revenge for anyone looking for a good daily use rom.

  52. nee user says:

New to rooting. I successfully rooted and downloaded safe strap. I was successfully able to get rom jelly bean 4.2.1 to install. After it boots I am not sure how to get apps back or even find the play store. Currently I restored back to rooted 4.0.4 until I can figure out. Any help would be appreciated.

  53. Abel says:

Did you flash gapps? If you didn’t they are in the link above. Download the zip file to your sd card and not into recovery and just flash gapps

  54. Christopher Smith says:

So my razr has been having that hdmi for a while and I found a way around it by disabling the hdmi auto detect in the system settings under display. Now I just downloaded the full throttle rom and there is no auto detect so…… Now my screen is in landscape mode and I can’t get it to turn back. Any advice?

  55. Jacques Szluha says:

Installed it on my razr… But stuck in “Full Throttle” boot screen… I need help :(

    • Christopher Smith says:

Hold down the power button and the volume down button at the same time. That will shut off your phone and just try and re installing the ROM.

      • Jacques Szluha says:

Tried that, and clearing my cache and factory reset… Still no go :(

        • Abel says:

What safestrap version are you running? If your on safe strap 3.0 and above delete your rom slot and create a new one do a wipe and install the rom and clear cache and reboot.

          • Jacques Szluha says:

Its v2, if I’m not mistaken. And I have no idea how to access safestrap when the phone is off :( got the launcher app with my root.

            • Abel says:

My best advice is to boot into your stock rom and download the newest version of safe strap and try again or boot into stock use matts utility to have a clean .211 and find the official jelly bean update and download that. Roms for the jelly bean kernal are way better with less bugs. Either way you should get the latest safe strap.

              • Jacques Szluha says:

That’s just it, I can’t boot into my rom, or any rom for that matter. The only solution I got so far was the “fastboot” option… But I’m going to have to wait till I get more cap.

  56. Christopher Smith says:

Wait there is no play store on this ROM wtf?

  57. Yaay! just fixed my XT910 (didn’t lose my ICS <3) now…okay… anyone know where i can download CM10.1 for RAZR XT910 (NOT verizon??) <— need SouthAfrican model compatible one.

  58. James Bertrand says:

i love this rom, but there’s one problem with it that annoys me. I could live without the flash working on the camera, but with snapchat the camera doesn’t work at all. I use this app a lot so I couldn’t continue to use the rom which bummed me out. Maybe you could keep me posted if they make a fix for this bug.

  59. ruben rincon says:

I do all the step to upgrade my razr tx910. after all, i doesn´t turn on.

I don’t really know what happen. So i would like you to tell me what to do to repair it.

    Thanks.

  60. You have just built an attached garage with a foundation in the Sims 3, but a few finishing touches
are needed. Consumers love these doors because, it gives you the
freedom to put your own touch on them. Rolling shutters of ROMA have a patented sound
body and are therefore pleasantly quiet.

  61. If your Garage Door has been fixed with the presence of poles then
attach the wire with the poles. With the garage door closed,
place the ladder below the motor and find the limit switches.
