I know some of you were very disappointed at Verizon/Motorola Jelly Bean update and if you are in that circle, definitely check out a custom ROM like CM10.1, which is an AOSP ROM, built purely from Google sources.

CM10.1 ROM brings you the latest Android 4.2.2 and great news is that this version is an “official” version directly from CyanogenMod Team.  It is available for both Verizon and GSM Droid Razr (and also Razr Maxx).

With the latest CM10.1 ROM you will be able to easily turn your Razr into a Nexus device plus additional customization CyanogenMod provides (see video overview for customization).

Of course, there are stuff broken on this ROM such as HDMI output so if you MUST use that feature, do not install this ROM.  Otherwise, CM10.1 ROM is near flawless, camera/camcorder works well, and recommended as daily driving ROM.

If you haven’t tried latest CM10.1 ROM, definitely give it a try this week(end) and do let me know what you think!

it shows you on 4.2.2. I got the official JB update before i rooted and still have not yet rooted my phone and im only on 4.1.2. Once i root will i be able to flash this rom? Or do i need to do something else prior in order to get 4.2.2 cause that what i really want haha

  2. AC says:

You need a boot loader such a Safe strap 3.11. This will allow you to install the ROM and give you the option to toggle between stock ROM and CM 10.1

    • shrinivas says:

Hi, i am looking for step by step guide on XT910 Jelly Bean. IF you send me the details, would appreciate. Seems like to upgraded to JB easily. I am confused between Fastboot and Safestrap booting.

  3. AC says:

Recovery I should say, not boot loader.

I must comment that the battery life is substantially better than the stock JB ROM.

  4. Dee says:

What about blue tooth? I Does blue tooth work with this ROM on the RAZR?

  5. Jason says:

yeah bluetooth works, like he said the only thing not working is the HDMI

AMAZING ROM tho, really smooth and great features! so glad this came out cause i dont think the razr is to get 4.2.2 🙁

    • Dee says:

Okay. I flashed in the ROM this afternoon and am very pleased.
I was cleaning blur with Titanium before but my big gripe was that I couldn’t invert the screen when plugged in and charging in the car. Motorola in a great oversight put the charge connection on top of the phone and then locked the stock ROM from inversion.
Problem solved. Now I’m running 4.2.2 and I can invert. Wooho!

  6. c fox says:

Is this for the Christmas leak or the official OTA?

  7. Daniel says:

HELP! I dont have the JB update and i flashed this from ICS. now the google play store wont show up and when i try to download it it wont work, any thoughts on how to fix this?

  8. Dave says:

Seriously is this for X-Mas leak or Official OTA or BOth??? I really need to know before I flash this!!!

  9. everettjte says:

hey, cm10.1 works pretty well on my Razr, the only thing I have noticed is it has lost its bluetooth address and bt will not stay turned on at all. All the rest is just perfect. thanks. i am looking for a rom for the standard jb, i did the jb ota without unrooting my ics and that space is working very strange.

    • Jason says:

i def would have unrooted before doing the update OTA and if u go to xda you can get the cm 10.1 nightlies and the bluetooth is fixed (i would suggest getting the 3/30/13 update)

  10. Sean says:

i’m sorry, i installed this rom yesterday, but now i don’t get any 3g or 2g either.
everything is turned on, and when i try to manually look for a provider the phone just keeps looking even tough i have full signal strength.
When i go back to de stock rom, i do get a signal thats the weird part.

I would really appreciate some help, thanks!

    • mrrath says:

      APN : internet

  11. Daniel Izenman says:

I flashed this ROM wuthout updating to JB I’m still on ICS in stock is that a problem?

  12. Coop says:

Had issues with the Camera working at all. Gallery would constantly crash causing the camera app to crash. This type of bug has been the bane of many Android roms…. Any1 know of a fix, or a better more stable rom?

    • john p says:

I fixed the camera problems by removing both DCIM folders from the internal and external SD cards. Just put them on my computer, zero camera/gallery FCs after that.

  13. Tyler says:

Does anyone know if stock wifi tether works like it does on the Eclipse JB leak rom?

  14. Swoops says:

Plz do a review on liquid smooth ROM released yesterday

  15. Quinn says:

Ok so I flashed CM10.1 and it’s working fine except for one thing (and it’s completely my fault); I forgot to download the Google apps file. Is it too late to install them after flashing CM? It’s something I could live without, but it’d be pretty tough. Any help would be much appreciated.

    • Pleco says:

Yes you can install gapps after flashing. Just download the gapps file and put it on your SD card, then boot into recovery and install it.

  16. Agustin B. says:

My battery life on this ROM is HORRIBLE almost like my stock ROM battery and plus there is no FAST CHARGE? It’s a great ROM nonetheless but idk if this is a good ROM for increasing battery life? Any suggestions?

  17. Steve says:

My volume is so low after this update? Can barely hear anything on it

  18. NoLo says:

I downloaded the 10.1 Rom and gapps and flashed them both correctly. But when I reboot all I get is a black screen. I am on xt912 CDMA 4.1.2. What is my malfunction!! lol!

  19. Guilherme says:

Will this work on my xt910?

  20. joe says:

I have 4.0.4 on my XT912, will this work? Also, I’m running Eclipse 1.5 too. I have SS 3.11 installed.

  21. Rob says:

I have a Verizon razr maxx, which I recently updated to 4.1.2. I also have a Nexus 7, and I would very happy if I had the exact same OS on the razr. Will I be ok installing this ROM? Thanks

Some more info in case it’s useful:

    System version: 98.72.16.XT912.Verizon.en.US
    Build date Feb 1 20:37:25
    Build number 9.8.20-72_VWZ-16

  22. mike says:

Hello I tried flashing the rom using safetrap but when it’s supposed to reboot, it just turns off, and it won’t do anything, I can’t get it to reboot. when I reboot it asks me to go into safetrap but it won’t do anything else. I tried reflashing the rom but it still won’t do anything, please help

  23. Mountain Man says:

OK…I am a total noob when it comes to this, but my stock rom is acting up so i wanted this one…just rooted my phone today…so my question is…HOW DO I GET THIS ROM ON MY PHONE…i downloaded the file and extracted all files onto my desktop…what do i do now????

  24. Nina says:

Can you tell me how to flash CM onto the RAZR without safestrap? I do not want any dual boot functionality. I do not need to save any of my existing data. I just want to totally wipe everything and do a clean install of only CM 10. How would I do that? Thanks.

  25. Tom says:

Where are the files? I clicked on the links for both zip files and get taken to a page where all I see are software links to apps I don’t want……video down loader, zip file opener, etc.

  26. Tom E. says:

do the CAPTCHA and click download button.

  27. bray says:

Has anyone else on here had MMS issues with this? I can’t send or receive picture texts. Is there a fix? Thanks!

    • bray says:

Also, I’m running the CM10.1.3 version which is supposed to have this fixed, but I’m still losing ability to send and receive pictures after a reboot. Thanks

  28. Mauricio says:

gapps link is broken or dont works fine
