RAZRX ROM for Rooted Droid Razr!

After using my stock Droid Razr for quite a bit, I finally got my first custom ROM running on it, the RAZRX ROM.  This is a fairly stock ROM but with debloated apps, zipaligned, and other small improvements over stock.  You can expect pretty much stock experience plus faster speeds and better battery life.

Try out this ROM and let me know what you think, we will have plenty ROM reviews coming this week so stay tuned folks!

Unfortunately it doesn’t work with the droid razr xt910.

Any solution for me will be greatly appreciated.

Just wondering If I flash this ROM will it interfere down the road when ICS is officially ported to the RAZR? And question two have you heard anything about not being able to charge your phone if the battery dies.

I would like to install onto my xt910. Is there a workaround? yg, what happened when you tried to install? Does anyone know of a ROM that I can install on my xt910?

As far as system updates for new firmware, if you have rooted the phone it generally will not let you update (especially if you have removed boatware). Personally I never run system updates while rooted since I have heard horror stories of people bricking their phones. Here’s what I do: You have to restore/unfreeze any bloatware (always freeze/unfreeze if you use titanium pro – highly recommended and worth the $2 as some bloatware you can delete but not re-install!), temporarily un-root (using OTA rootkeeper, another must have) then run the system update. After that you can re-root and refreeze bloatware. I did this when a new update came out and it worked fine. Not sure if the rooting process mentioned here (the Mattlgroff one) will continue to work for later updates…
As far as ICS…who knows? I personally would wait until the official update comes out then wait some more until a viable rooting method comes out…Don’t know if the rooting process that works currently will still work with ICS. I myself am new to this but I have played around a little with rooting and bloatware removal/SQlite editor.

  3. This ROM works great on my Razr. Unfortunately though, I just found out that DroidTh3ory isn’t going to be developing it anymore 🙁

  5. whiteycash says:

no, i have done everything zedomax says to a t and i have a working rooted razr running razrx rom….thank you so much zedomax!!!

  6. whiteycash says:

On a side note…when can i get ics for my rooted razr? wouild i have to wait for the update and unroot? imma real noob so please be gentle 🙂

    • Aaron says:

new here too, I have heard of current ICS leaked ROMs, but they are unstable/beta at best… I am going to wait until the official update comes out, then wait for a verified and stable ICS root/rom. That way I can un-root / update / re-root without any worries. Of course, you can always just use safestrap to back up your current rooted ROM and play around with things…if you mess up just flash the backed up rooted ROM and try again. Anyone with more knowledge on this subject please reply and let me know if my reasoning is flawed…thx!

  8. De Havilland says:

Is anyone else having an issue with MotoCast… For some reason mine isn’t functioning… any help would be greatly appreciated …

    • Aaron says:

I do not use MotoCast, tried it and stopped using it since it seemed kinda… i dunno “clunky” and poorly executed? If you are looking to just sync music from iTunes I would recommend using iSyncr, it works with the stock music player and a bunch of third party players, has lots of nice features (you can sync individual playlists etc.) and runs smoothly. If you want to sync wirelessly you can purchase the wireless option for $2, I did and it works great. Just run the software in the background on your PC and make sure your phone is hooked up to your home network and press the sync button. If you are like me and hate extra programs running on your PC as much as your phone you can just turn the program on/off on your PC as needed.
